The method of using duct tape hair removal with coconut oil is natural home remedy used to pull hair out of its root. The idea of putting duct tape on the body, then pulling is not going to be a pain-free experience though. If you’re willing to go to extremes though to have a completely smooth and hair free body, then this is one of the cheapest and affordable alternatives to removing body hair by the root.
It’s similar to waxing, except it’s a little more painful. If you’re not sure how to actually do this, then we’re going to go through how to remove body hair with duct tape. So take a deep breath, exhale, and let’s see if we can do this.
Things You’ll Need
• Virgin Coconut Oil
• Duct Tape
• Ice Packs (optional but recommended)
Why Use Coconut Oil
Instead of wax, you can use coconut oil as a replacement to absorb into the skin. It will naturally lubricate the skin, keeps it moist, and acts as a natural anti-inflammatory for the skin. Let’s face it, ripping hair out of the roots, regardless of how you do it will hurt at first. Using coconut oil can help to reduce the pain, and make it easier to rip out the hair follicles at the same time.
Coconut oil will take some time into absorb, so apply on the parts of the skin a few hours before you’re actually ready to remove body hair.
You don’t have to heat it up either. The best thing about using coconut oil is that its extremely cheap and you can find it at your local health store.
Where to Use Duct Tape to Remove Hair
Duct tape should not be used on any part of the body. Do not use it on the bikini area, nor should you use it with pubic hair. You risk potentially injuring yourself. You can use it on your arms, legs, and highly recommended for the chest area. I wouldn’t use it on the stomach either. It might be too sensitive. The firmer the skin, the better to use duct tape. It won’t hurt as much. The pain with be intense at first but usually won’t leave any permanent pain or damage to the skin.
How to Use Duct Tape to Remove Hair
I’d recommended taking a shower first so the skin is nice and soft. Make sure you’re completely dry. Unfortunately you can’t use coconut oil while ripping out the hair with duct tape. The duct tape won’t be able to stick with the coconut oil. So after you shower, absorb the coconut into your skin.
It might take a few hours for it to absorb, depending how much you’re using on a particular area of the skin. When it does absorb, I’d recommend taking an aspirin to help reduce the pain.
When you apply the duct tape to the body about a 6 inch cut should do it. Apply in an up and down direction on the body. Now when you pull it off, make sure you pull the tape off from the downward direction going against the grain of the skin.
When you pull it off, do it fast. It will hurt a lot at first, but if you have an ice pack next to you then apply directly to the area. Helps reduce inflammation and redness. Then continue this process and take breaks if needed.
When you’re completely done then absorb coconut oil completely over the areas you’ve removed body hair. You’ll likely be a little sore, but the coconut oil will absorb deeply into the pores of the skin and help reduce skin inflammation.
This is the best way to remove body hair with duct tape with as little pain as possible. You’ll still have to be brave enough to rip it out from the root. Duct tape works as good as anything when it comes to removing body hair at its root.
